Saturday morning we drove from Coos Bay to Pacific City with a stop in Depoe Bay for salt water taffy for Dude. It was super windy when we got to Pacific City, so we did a quick walk to the water and then back to the beach house where we watched Disney movies and worked on a 1,000-piece puzzle with Kaylyn and Nathaniel. Bubba followed Teri around for quite a bit of the time we were there. This morning after breakfast we walked down to Cape Kiawanda to play in the sand and climb the giant sand hill. The girls were exhausted and took a great nap after lunch. After nap we packed up and continued our trek north on the 101 with stops in Cape Meares to see the lighthouse, Octopus Tree, and one of the biggest Sitka Spruce trees in the Pacific Northwest. Then onto Tillamook where we got some cheese and ice cream - YUM! We tried Tillamook Mudslide, Caramel Toffee Crunch, Rootbeer Float, and Rocky Road ice creams. Now we're in Astoria for the night where we have a great view of sunset over the Columbia River and are having fish & chips for dinner from Wet Dog Cafe. Pictures tomorrow when we get home!
