After racquetball on Saturday night, Dude and Kiddo went down to Island Park in Springfield to watch the fireworks while the rest of us attempted to sleep. Sunday morning we were up around 7am, got some "complimentary continental breakfast" at the hotel and by 8:30a, we were packed back up and on the road to California! We stopped for a quick lunch at a rest stop just south of Medford and then down I-5 and past Mt. Shasta to Dunsmuir. We were able to check into our hotel at 1:30p, so we hung out, the kids and Dude hit the pool, and Momma took a nap in our caboose. Then we headed out to see Hedge Creek Falls and grabbed some local burgers and a pineapple milkshake to eat back at the caboose. The girls went to bed early while Kiddo hit the pool where she met some girls from Italy who were staying in the caboose next to ours. Momma got to read some books since there was no internet and spotty cell service.
The Railroad Motel was a great place to stay - our caboose had a queen bed and three twins, one of which was a bunk bed. The pool and hot tub were nice, there was a stream running through and a large pond. We all would recommended it!
